This tester simulates fire hazards as specified in IEC 60695-2-20, UL 60950, IEC 60950-1999, and ASTM D3874-1997. It employs a heating wire of specific dimensions (0.5mm × 250mm) and material (Ni80/Cr20), pre-annealed at a defined power (0.26W/mm) and duration (8-12 seconds). The wire is wound in five full turns around the sample at a 6mm pitch, then tested at the same power (0.26W/mm) until ignition or for up to 120 seconds. The test evaluates fire risks based on ignition occurrence or time to ignition.
