The glow-wire test simulates thermal stress or ignition sources caused by overheated components or overloaded resistors in a short period, assessing fire hazards for parts or components under fault or overload conditions. It applies to plastic and non-metallic insulating materials used in electrical and electronic products, components, and household appliance parts, such as switch housings and relay sockets. This tester features a PLC + color LCD touchscreen control system with an intuitive interface and includes a built-in printer for recording test conditions and results.
Model | 6002-HD |
Control System | 7-inch color LCD touchscreen + PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), equipped with a test data printer. |
Display System | 7-inch color LCD touchscreen for setting and displaying glow time (Ta), ignition time (Ti), flame extinction time (Te), glow-wire temperature, print interface, and operational status. |
Chamber Volume | ≥0.5 m³, with a glass observation door. |
Internal Illuminance | Less than 20 Lux. |
Glow-Wire Temperature | Adjustable from ambient + 10°C to 1000°C, measured using a Ø1mm nickel-chromium armored (K-type) imported thermocouple. |
Force Applied to Sample | 0.95 ± 0.10 N, with a penetration depth limited to 7.0 ± 0.5 mm (automatically sensed). |
Glow-Wire | Made of nickel/chromium alloy (>77% Ni / 20±1% Cr). The diameter before bending is 4.0 ± 0.07 mm, with other dimensions manufactured to standard tolerances. |
Movement Speed of Glow-Wire Tip | 10 mm/s to 25 mm/s (approaching or retracting from the sample). |
Wooden Board | White pine board, thickness >10 mm, placed 200±5 mm below the sample contact point. |
Timer | Adjustable range: 0-999.9 seconds, accuracy: ±0.1 seconds. Glow time (Ta) is settable, while ignition duration (Ti) and flame extinction time (Te) are recordable. |
Key Features | Automated control system. After initiation, the sample carriage automatically moves the specimen to the glow-wire and retracts after the set glow time. Features black interior, ventilation, lighting, and digital displays for easy observation and recording. |
Power Supply | AC 220V, 50Hz. |
